The George’s is
a quaint Georgian building with narrow corridors. While
2 metre social distancing remains in Wales, we are unable
to provide in-house service safely.
We are now looking into the possibility of reinstating
our home delivery service for our Dine@Home meals and,
perhaps, a hot take away service. More news of this as
soon as we have assessed the logistics. Please check
our Facebook page for updates

THE GEORGE’S - ONE OF PEMBROKESHIRE’S
TRUE GEMS
Nestling between the Georgian facades in Haverfordwest’s
historic trading area, is the George’s…..you’d
be forgiven for overlooking the small bay windowed frontage
but you won’t want to miss what lies inside.
Locals, regular visitors and the guide books all agree
that The George’s is a quirky emporium, difficult
to categorize, full of surprises – somewhere to
relax, chat, dine and shop. See our entries in the Good
Food and Good Pub Guides. We were voted first in category
in the Pembrokeshire’s Best competition this year
and have featured in the Guardian web site travel section.
The George’s offers customers a haven from the hustle
and bustle, in ancient premises stretching back from the
street to the secluded gardens and cellar shops at the
rear. Enjoy a drink in the secluded garden or something
to eat at times to suit you. Call in after visiting the
Leisure Centre, cinema or local shops, all nearby.
We serve good, honest food, genuinely homemade on the
premises, offered at affordable prices in our quiet booths,
peaceful garden or upstairs restaurant. We use local produce
and suppliers where possible and grow some of our own
organic fruit and veg in our Walled Garden. We trade ethically
and specialise in natural remedies, toiletries and clothing.
However, what really makes The George’s is its
people – the team has pride in the quality of food
and goods on offer and a commitment to cheerful, efficient
service.
Individuality, humour, shared values – The George’s
really is an eclectic mix – people, products, services,
the old and the new ( see below for a bit of history)
….try it for yourself!

Then and Now
Originally the site of George’s Brewery until production
ceased after World War 2, Lesley Lewis, the owner, has
lovingly restored this charming18th century building in
the heart of Pembrokeshire’s county town.
Mr George himself would be gratified to see the range
of real ales and wines now served, but perhaps a little
surprised to find a range of health drinks, teas, coffees
and hot chocolate also available!
The menu offers local and international cuisine at affordable
prices in a friendly and informal atmosphere, with a wide
vegetarian/healthy options selection, plus snacks, desserts,
Pembrokeshire ice cream sundaes, and a Dine at Home takeaway
service.
The delightful historic walled garden was once the site
of the brewery bottling plant and stables and offers a
splendid view over the ruins of Haverfordwest’s
12th century castle: a quiet oasis in the middle of town.
The charming atmosphere is further enhanced by the vaulted
cellar which now houses an exciting retail area: a veritable
Aladdin’s Cave of natural cosmetics & remedies,
clothes and shoes, jewellery, mirrors, candles, gifts
and crystals.
The George’s is an unusual combination of pub,
café, restaurant and shop with a unique and friendly
atmosphere.
